my mother told me yesterday that the latest talk that's buzzing around is that after the wedding of my daughter (who is marrying an "unbeliever" aka normal person), my wife and i will come back.

my mom's friend said that the presiding overseer even told her that there's one thing he just can't understand----why i left.

he assumes that i feel badly that my daughter's getting married to a "worldly" aka normal person.

Welcome to the JWD forum

My husband stopped attending meetings about 3-6 months after I stopped. We were both disfellowshipped at the same time 11-12 years ago.

I never realized how difficult it would be but have heard from many here who were not as fortunate to leave the J.W.'s with their marriages and mates in tact. Lots of marital breakdown when one leaves the J.W.'s and mate cannot see passed the J.W. indoctrination.

grrrrrrr...I am about to lose it..Re: My Parents

so...even before i left my parents arranged with the mother of my kids to fly her up and back and didn't tell me.

i am about to blow my stack and am not very happy after getting off the phone.

gadget was nice enough to let me use the phone to call them and let them know i loved them and missed them.

I can understand your anger and frustration about this.

When someone plans something behind my back, when they know I would have disaproved of it, then Yes..I get mad too.

Hopefully, you will deal with it appropriately when you get back.

For now, there is not much you can do about it. At least, you'll have time to disipate your anger about it while you are away on vacation and I know you will deal with it when you get home.

you know, i never had a clue why people did this.

it's not like kingdom halls in different cities look different.

they just have a different shape, a different shaped yard, trees in different locations, and some had that car stop thingy which stopped you from getting wet.

The benefit of turning your back on God..according to my husband

i was talking to my husband about how my mother thought that all but one of her children had turned their backs on god, and how sad it made her.

he is a bit of a smart a$$, and he looked at me and said:.

"well, at least that means god will always be behind you!".

Besides the dubs being like this...

I have a friend that is sorta like this. Pushy, should have, could have, do it this way blah....

We don't get together much anymore unless it's a scheduled event with a good focus ..

I just can't take the pushy-ness and sort of feeling railroaded.. It feels very unrelaxed when she gets like this.

I never thought of it, but maybe she makes me feel like I'm back at the kingdom Hall or something like that. Yucky kind of feeling.
